In 1879 the chancel and vestry on the southside, and the south porch, were erected and the gallery was removed and various alterations were made.
The stained glass east windows representing Holman Hunt's Light of the World are in the memory of the Reverend John Hill, who died on the 14th June 1891, and Charlotte, his wife who died on the 14th January 1884 commissioned by his sons John, George, Clement and Brian. The church is entered through a carved wooden porch. The octagonal font made of local Grinshill stone was moved in 1993 from under the Bell Tower to where it is today just inside the church entrance. The church clock, made by Joyce of Whitchurch, set in the tower is visible from both sides of the church. The bell tower contains one bell. The organ was built in 1934 by J J Binns, Fitton & Haley Ltd. Mr Geoffrey Ashton gave it to the church in memory of his wife Evelyn. In 1999 the organ was completely renovated. A reading desk was dedicated to the chapel in memory of Rev. Daniel Jones MA who was curate at the chapel for three years. He died in 1910 aged 34. A list of men from the village who fought in the 1914-1918 war is placed on the church wall. Recently the names of men who fought in the Second World War have been added. In 2004 it was found that the pinnacles on the tower had deteriorated and required specialist work to the amount of approximately £120,000.
The church, nave and tower, built of large blocks of red sandstone, were constructed in 1791, on the site of a 1565 chapel shown in parish registers, chiefly at the expense of Sir Richard Hill, the 2nd Baronet. In 1879 the chancel and vestry on the south side, and the south porch, were erected.
